FOUNDER EXPERIENCE CASE STUDY - ALET
Building awareness and modernising the digital experience.
During his time as ALET’s Multimedia Content Executive, Cresco founder Reiss Simms-Williams led and delivered the trust’s digital marketing and content activity.
Working across the trust and its schools, Reiss managed paid social campaigns, redesigned websites and produced the visual content needed to support student recruitment and increase awareness.

Why This Work Mattered
Activate Learning Education Trust operates a group of schools specialising in technical education, including University Technical Colleges.
Unlike many traditional schools, UTCs cannot always rely on generations of local recognition and word-of-mouth. Their specialist offering needs to be clearly explained to students and parents, making targeted promotion and a strong digital presence particularly important.
As the trust continued to grow, several of its websites were running on outdated versions of WordPress and no longer represented the quality of the schools. The main trust website had also remained largely unchanged since 2017.
The challenge was to increase awareness, attract prospective students and parents, modernise the website experience and create stronger visual content across the trust.
Paid Social Campaigns
Meta advertising campaigns planned and managed with monthly budgets of up to £4,500.
Five Websites Revamped
Four individual school websites and the main Activate Learning Education Trust website redesigned.
A Stronger Content Library
New hero videos, photography, campaign graphics, promotional materials and school prospectuses produced across the trust.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
Bringing campaigns, websites and creative content together.
Rather than treating each area separately, Reiss connected paid advertising, website development and content production to create a clearer recruitment journey, from initially discovering a school to exploring its website, attending an event and requesting further information.

PAID SOCIAL
Reaching more prospective students and parents.
Reiss planned and managed Meta campaigns around recruitment periods, open events and promotional activity, overseeing monthly budgets of up to £4,500.
He handled campaign setup, targeting and creative production, using live data to refine audiences, content and spend. A typical comprehensive-school campaign generated around 2,800 clicks and 600 event registrations at an average cost per click of £0.08–£0.11.
This performance-led approach increased awareness, drove prospective families to ALET’s websites and improved future campaigns.

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
Creating a modern digital presence across the trust.
As ALET expanded, its existing websites no longer reflected the Trust’s growth or met the needs of students and parents.
Working with the Marketing Manager, Reiss revamped four school websites and the main Trust website—updating the design, restructuring content and improving navigation. Each site was shaped to clearly present the school’s specialist offering, courses, facilities and progression routes.
The result was a modern, consistent group of websites that strengthened the Trust’s identity while allowing each school to retain its own character.

VIDEOGRAPHY & CREATIVE PRODUCTION
Bringing each school’s personality to life.
To support the redesigned websites, Reiss planned and filmed hero videos that helped prospective students and parents quickly understand each school’s environment, personality and offering.
He also managed school photography and created a bank of high-quality imagery for websites, advertising, social media and print, alongside banners, campaign graphics, promotional videos and annual prospectuses.
Together, these assets created a more consistent and engaging visual presence across the Trust’s communications.
Creative Showcase
Bringing each school’s story to life.
From photography and hero videos to paid social creative and printed prospectuses, these examples show how each school’s personality and specialist offering were transformed into clear, engaging content.
